Sullivan Named MASCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s sophomore pitcher, Kyle Sullivan (Hudson, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pitcher of the week, as announced by the conference Monday evening.

The sophomore earned his second win of the season last Thursday (Mar. 30) when he came in for relief in the Lancers’ 6-4 nine inning win over UMass Dartmouth. In two innings pitched, he only allowed two Corsair hits and struck out one batter.

“It was a quality team win against a very good team on the road,” commented head coach Dirk Baker.  “Sully closed it with a clean ninth.”

Sullivan’s next start will be this weekend as the Lancers open up conference play with Westfield State on Saturday, and Mass. Maritime on Sunday.
