Quinn Tabbed LEC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Kayla Quinn (Sutton, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey offensive player of the week for the week of Oct. 10-16 as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

The senior forward scored a career-high four goals and one assist for a total of nine points in the Lancers’ 5-0 win over LEC opponent, Framingham State.

“Kayla had a great week on the field for us,” commented interim head coach, Alexa Carlson. “She was making great decisions in front of the net and taking quick and efficient shots. She was seeing the open spaces and players, placing the ball exactly where it needed to go.”

In the second game of the week, Quinn assisted one goal in the Lancers’ 3-0 win over Becker College.

“Kayla is finding her offensive groove at the peak of our season when it is in need most,” added Carlson. “I expect she will continue to make those key plays for us as we head into our last week of regular season play.”

The Lancers’ field hockey team wraps up regular season play this week as they host Keene State on Wednesday (Oct. 19) in a 7 p.m. matchup, and then travel to Westfield State on Friday (Oct. 21).
