Howes Named MASCAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s freshman guard, Cal Howes (Maynard, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men’s basketball rookie of the week, as announced by the conference Monday (Nov. 28) afternoon.

 

The freshman guard led the Lancers with a team-high 11 points on three from beyond the arc and a pair of free throws in the 91-54 setback to WPI. He also registered a rebound and a steal in the 23 minutes played.

 

The first year is currently averaging 5.8 points per game and is shooting 36.8 percent from the 3-point line.

 

The men’s basketball team returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 1) when they travel to Lasell for an 8 p.m. tipoff.
