WORCESTER, Mass. - A day after being named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, freshman Eddie Hassell (Milton, Mass.) of the Worcester State University men's basketball has received the same honor from the Worcester Area College Basketball Association.
Hassell averaged eight points, 4.5 rebounds and two steals in two games for the Lancers. He scored 10 points, five rebounds and a steal in 13 minutes of action in the 96-84 setback to Western Connecticut State University and added six points, four rebounds and three steals off the bench in a loss to Bowdoin College.
Hassell and the Lancers will return to action on Tuesday evening with a matchup against WPI. Tipoff from down the street against the Engineers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
