WESTFIELD, Mass. - Worcester State University junior Abigail MacGregor (Salem, N.H.) and sophomore Matthew Manning (Novi, Mich.) each received weekly awards from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, brought to you by GEICO, on Monday afternoon.

MacGregor was named the MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week, while Manning received the MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week Award.

MacGregor qualified for the New England Championships with a time of 8.05 seconds and a first place finish in the 60m dash at Saturday’s Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational. She also ran the first leg of Worcester State’s 4x200 meter relay team that finished in sixth place with a time of 1:51.22.

Manning tallied two goals and two assists in two games this week, leading the Lancers to a split of a pair of MASCAC contests. His strongest outing of the week came when he potted two goals in Worcester State’s 5-2 win over Fitchburg State, while also assisting on the game-winner, on Saturday evening.

Manning's men's ice hockey team will be back in action on Thursday evening with a road trip to Plymouth State University. MacGregor and the women's indoor track & field team will head to the NEICAAA Championships and the Wesleyan Invitational this weekend.
