WINTHROP, Mass. – Worcester State men’s golfer Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Poitras carded a six-over 77 on Wednesday, leading the Lancers golf team to a fourth-place finish at the eight-team Brett Williamson Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University at Tekoa Country Club. Poitras finished just two strokes off the pace, as the winner of the event shot a 75 before winning in a playoff.
Poitras and the Worcester State men’s golf team will play next on Tuesday, October 2 as they host the MASCAC Championships at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton.
