Lewis Tabbed All Division New England High Jump Champion

RESULTS

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Worcester State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed in the All New England meet Friday-Saturday (May 12-13) hosted by Williams College.

 

The men's team placed 17th overall as Justin Lewis (Lynn, Mass.) scored as he was crowned the All Division New England high jump champion at 2.06m. He bested the next opponent of Northeastern University by 0.05m. He currently holds a PR of 2.07m and is ranked 11th in the NCAA Division III national rankings.

 

Worcester State's thrower, Marcus Vieira (Peabody, Mass.) took part in both the hammer throw and the discus throw. He came in 11th in the hammer (52.58m), and 13th in the discus (43.69m). Vieira is currently nationally ranked 20th in the hammer with a season best and PR of 55.48m.

 

Also in attendance for the men's team was Markiesh Harmon (Leominster, Mass.) who competed in the long jump (5.94) and the high jump (no height), and also Scott Page (Baldwinville, Mass.) in the pole vault (no height).

 

For the women, rookie Lauren Waters (Mansfield, Mass.) competed in the 100 Meter Dash (12.88) and Abigail Danso (Worcester, Mass.) contested in the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.39). Both were a part of the 4x100 Meter Relay that came in 14th place (50.14). Abigail MacGregor (Salem, N.H.) and Rachel Stier (Mansfield, Mass.) ran the other two legs.

 

Worcester State's Haley Moss (Melrose, Mass.) was also in attendance as she competed in the high jump.

 

Next week is the "last chance" outdoor track & field meet which will be hosted by MIT.
