11 Worcester State Student-Athletes Named to 2017 LEC Fall All-Academic Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – 11 Worcester State University field hockey and women’s tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2017 Little East Conference (LEC) Fall All-Academic Team, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.

 

Olivia Antonelli (Westford, Mass.), Michaila Parent (Westborough, Mass.), Rielley Richards (Athol, Mass.), Lindsay Ryan (Northbridge, Mass.), Kathryn Salemme (Boxborough, Mass.), Katelyn Santos (Acushnet, Mass.), Jolane Thibault (Douglas, Mass.), and Jessica Wilding (Somerset, Mass.) of the Worcester State field hockey team and Isabel Badeau (Cumberland, R.I.), Nathalie Khafaga (Auburn, Mass.) and Lauren Taylor (Attleboro, Mass.) of the women’s tennis team were recognized.

 

To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing both academically and athletically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

 

In total, there were 248 student-athletes competing in the LEC’s seven fall championship sports – men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis, women’s volleyball – that were named to the 2017 LEC Fall All-Academic Team.

Six student-athletes currently maintain a 4.00 cumulative GPA

32 student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.90

84 student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75

182 student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50
