Joan Bromlay Siska, your exceptional athletic ability and competitive spirit have distinguished you as one of the most versatile athletes to ever wear a Worcester State uniform.

You were outstanding while playing three sports, basketball, softball and field hockey while earning eight varsity letters. Your leadership qualities were recognized as you were selected a captain of both the basketball and softball teams. You scored 845 career points in basketball and scored a game high 31 points against Fitchburg State, third best in Worcester State, history.

You established the school record at that time hitting 14 straight free throws and held the school record for best free throw percentage in a season in 1972-73 at 78 percent and the career percentage record at 74.6 percent. Not only were you a scorer but you contributed to the team's success in many other ways. You were selected the most valuable player of the Massachusetts State College Tournament in 1970-71. You were a pitcher in softball and also played third-base and left field. You played right wing for the field hockey team for one season.

You were honored during your undergraduate days by your selection to the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Your leadership qualities continued as you went on to coach the Sutton. High School basketball teams for 12 years and compiled a .627 winning percentage as a coach. You also coached softball for five years and field hockey for three years at Sutton.

You are currently an adaptive physical education teacher in the Mendon-Upton School District working with visually impaired and special needs students.
