A three year key player of the highly successful ice hockey team, James McCullough '79 served as the team's captain in his senior year. He was a member of the Lancer hockey teams which reached the ECAC semi-finals in 1974-75, runners-up in 1975-76, and ECAC Champions in 1976-77.

He was named the ECAC Player of the Year in 1977. He is currently the college's seventh leading all time scorer with 57 goals and 68 assists for 125 career points.

He has coached hockey at Blackstone-Milville and Oxford Highs and the Worcester Youth Hockey League. He is still playing in the Auburn Adult Hockey League.

James McCullough is the owner of the Southbridge Spectacle Shop and vice president of Meineke Discount Muffler Shop in Worcester. He is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Registered Dispensing Opticians (MAEDO) and is a licensed optician.
