Oscar Larsson
Title: Class of 1997

The first athletic trainer at Worcester State College, Oscar Larsson worked from 1973 until his retirement in 1989. He established the College's first weight training facilities. In the Spring of 1990, the College honored him by naming the training facility the Oscar Larsson Fitness Center.

He attended the Norwich School of Physical Therapy and Springfield College. He was the health director at the Worcester YMCA for 25 years and also served as the trainer for the Norton Company semipro baseball teams. He also worked as the trainer at Worcester Junior College.

He also is a US Army veteran from World War II and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Over the years, Oscar Larsson has worked as an athletic trainer on a part-time basis at some of the Worcester State athletic contests.
