Rachel (Bishop) Economos '92
Title: Class of 1997

Known as the most outstanding softball pitcher in the history of Worcester State College, Rachel (Bishop) Economos '92, finished with a 57-20 school record, including 20 shutouts and four no-hitters. Her career earned run average was 0.99 for 513 innings pitched.

At the time of her graduation she held two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III records with 552 career strikeouts and the most strikeouts in a single game with 18. She was selected the Massachusetts State College (MASCAC) Player of the Year in 1992 and was selected an All New England first team All Star twice. In 1992 she was fourth in the country with a 0.69 earned run average and second in the nation with an average of 9.5 strikeouts per game. In 1990, she pitched three complete games in one day to lead her team to the ECAC North Championship.

Rachel Economos runs a highly successful softball pitching clinic for youngsters at Worcester State College.
