John “Jack" Coleman '72
Title: Class of 2000

Jack Coleman was an outstanding Defenseman for the Lancers Hockey Team for four years. He was a captain of the 1972 team, which set a College record for wins in a season when the team finished with a 21-3 record. 

To this day, Jack is still the all-time leading scorer as a defenseman with 37 career goals and 89 career points. In one game he scored five goals against Nichols College in a 7-4 win. 

He served as Secretary and Vice-President of the Worcester State College Athletic Association for three years.

He coached ice hockey at Millbury High from 1970 to 1980 and his team was the South County Champion for 1973-74. From 1980 to 1995 he was a youth hockey coach in the South County and Bay State Leagues.

Jack still serves as the official scorer at all Worcester State College home hockey games.
