Timothy Ethier '73
Title: Class of 2002

Tim Ethier '73 was an outstanding tennis player for four years and a very important member of the basketball team for two seasons. He also played one year of varsity soccer. He was a captain of the tennis teams his junior and senior years and was a co-captain in basketball as a senior.

Tim compiled an outstanding 41-10 record in tennis singles winning 80 percent of his matches and combined with his brother Jack for a school record 31-3 in doubles matches to win 91 percent of the doubles matches.

He was a starter on the basketball team for two years during the 1971- 72 season when the team was 18-7 and 1972-73 when the team finished 17-8, two of the best seasons in Lancer history. He had five triple doubles (points, rebounds, assists) and 16 double-doubles and was awarded the Coaches Award for Contribution to the team in 1973.

Tim was the senior class president in 1973 and was the winner of the Ella Mae Whitney Award for Contribution to the Senior Class. He is the third member of the Ethier family to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. His brother, John Ethier and sister, Patricia (Ethier) Marois are also members of the Worcester State College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ethier is a social studies teacher at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and the owner of Tim Ethier Video Productions. He is chairman of the Holden Board of Selectmen.
