1984 Club Football Team
Title: Class of 2016
Under the direction of head coach Brien A. Cullen ’77, ’85, the 1984 Club Football Team was named the 1984 National Collegiate Football Association Champions after defeating two-time defending National Champions Bentley College 20-14 in the championship game played November 23, 1984. In order to advance to the championship game, the Lancers came roaring back to score 20 unanswered second half points in the semifinals to wipe out a 16-3 deficit and beat MIT 23-16.

The team posted a perfect 11-0 record for its first-ever unbeaten season. This achievement, combined with the football program’s continued success since its inception in 1969, enabled football to achieve the status of a varsity program the following year in 1985.
