John P. Brissette ’88 has been an integral part of Worcester State University since 1983, when as a student he threw himself wholeheartedly into campus life. Over the years, his service has been tireless and far-reaching.

 

In 1992, John became a member of the Alumni Association’s Advisory Board. He was named the alumni representative to the Board of Trustees in 2002. He served as alumni representative until 2007, when he was named chair of the board, a position he held until 2013. He has also been a long-term member of the Worcester State Foundation Board, on which he served as chair of the Annual Fund Committee.

 

John, who is employed as an account executive at Braley and Wellington Insurance Agency Corp., has served on numerous other committees, including the Outdoor Athletic Facilities Committee, and is an active supporter of WSU athletics. When he joined the Trustees in 2002, he stated that one of his goals was to help Worcester State secure funding for a new first-class wellness and athletic center. Today, that goal has been achieved. This state-of-the-art facility exists, in part, because of the vision, effort, and effective leadership of John Brissette.
