Lawrence T. “Bear” Dunn was a standout baseball player for the Lancers, posting a .400 career batting average in his three years with the team. He is currently ranked third all-time at Worcester State in home runs (22), second all-time in walks (62), and fourth all-time in slugging percentage (.694).

In his three-year stint with Worcester State, Dunn was named the MASCAC Player of the Year his senior year, and earned First Team honors at first base, and Second Team honors on the mound and at second base. Not only was he a top player in the conference, he also made his mark in New England as he was named a New England Regional All-Star, ECAC Second Team All-Star, and named to the NEIBL Second Team All-New England.

Dunn was true to the name “student-athlete” as he was both a star on the diamond and a scholar in the classroom. Dunn concluded his career at Worcester State as a recipient of the prestigious Margaret “Peg” Nugent Scholar Athlete Award.
