Matthew M. Heenan was a two-year second baseman for the Lancers’ baseball team who was an offensive threat. He posted a .416 career batting average with 134 hits, 43 doubles, nine triples, six home runs, 77 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases. 
 
Heenan was named to the First Team All-MASCAC both in his junior and senior years with the Lancers and was also named Third Team New England All-American his senior year.
 
He helped his team earn two MASCAC tournament appearances and the ECACs in his junior year. As a senior, Heenan guided his team to a MASCAC Tournament and regular season championship, along with an NCAA Mid-Atlantic regional.
 
Heenan will forever be remembered for a three-run walk-off home run in the seventh inning to beat Bridgewater State in his senior year.
