Jessica Meany has been the head athletic trainer at Worcester State University since 2003. As the head athletic trainer, Meany is responsible for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries of Worcester State University’s 400+ student-athletes.

Meany is also responsible for the daily pre- and post-game treatments, recordkeeping, and handling athlete files and clearance status. 

Meany has her National Athletic Trainers Certification (ATC), Massachusetts Athletic Training Licenses, and American Red Cross Certified Instructor and First Aid certifications. She is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts Association.

Prior to attaining the head position in 2003, Meany worked as a graduate assistant and intern for 16 months before earning a spot as the Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2002. Meany was promoted to the head position and had held the spot since.

Aside from athletic training, Meany acts as an adjunct faculty at the University, as she teaches five health science classes including Fitness for Life, Community CPR and First Aid, Fundamentals of Athletic Training, Human Sexuality, and Community Health.

Meany graduated with her Bachelor’s in athletic training from Springfield College and received her Master’s in health education from Worcester State just two years later.

Meany lives in Holden with her husband John and their three children.
