Krystyanna ‘Krys’ Ramsdell, was named the Sports Information Director at Worcester State University in June of 2022. In this role, Krys is responsible for all Athletic Department related media and public relations for each of the 21 athletic programs. She is also responsible for game management and statistics, departmental web page(s), and the annual Sports Award Banquet.

Ramsdell earned her undergraduate degree from Catholic University in 2012 with a B.A. double major in History and Political Science. In 2014, she earned her Master's degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University.

Prior to joining WSU, Krys worked full-time at Strategic Communications as Senior Project Manager working on multiple external clientele projects.


From 2014 to 2018 Ramsdell was at Bridgewater College (VA), where she was their first recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant. She was the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Programming & Well-Being, as well as the Assistant Field Hockey and Goalie Coach. She also worked with campus departments such as Multi-Cultural Affairs, Career Services, Counseling, and with the Title IX Coordinator to plan student-athlete and staff trainings, assisted the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.), planned the year-end Golden Eagle Awards banquet, game day Alumni events, variousfundraising projects, and managed the athletic laundry service.

In her 4 seasons as the assistant coach, the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team had two appearances in the ODAC title game. In 2014, the Eagles reached the ODAC championship game for the first time in program history and in 2015, the Eagles won the program's first-ever ODAC championship reaching the NCAA Sweet 16.

While earning her Master’s degree, Ramsdell served as an intern in the athletic business office at Division 1 Northeastern University where she was responsible for financial compliance and budgets. She assisted with organizing account reconciliations, financial analysis, and other special projects for the Huskies. Simultaneously, Krys was the head field hockey coach at Concord Academy in Massachusetts and served as their assistant basketball and assistant lacrosse coach.

Ramsdell was a three-year goalkeeper at The Catholic University of America - earning NFHCA Academic Squad and Dean’s List status each semester. During her time with the Cardinals, Ramsdell aided Catholic to the 2010 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC). Also, while at CUA, Ramsdell served as a legislative intern for Representatives James McGovern (D-Massachusetts), and Niki Tsongas (D-Massachusetts), was an intern for The Office of Presidential Correspondence under President Obama, and had an internship at the lobbying firm U. S. Government Relations International Group (USGRI). She also spent a semester abroad in Belgium working for the British Member of European Parliament Roger Helmer, at the European Union in Brussels.

While attending Holy Name Central Catholic High School ’08 (now St. Paul’s), Ramsdell was a three-sport athlete participating in field hockey, basketball, and track. She also worked closely assisting the Athletic Director - receiving the Manzello Athletic Director Award at graduation.

As a goal keeper for Cape Ann Field Hockey her team took home the Gold Medal at the 2006 USA National Field Hockey Festival. She has also been a coach for the Shrewsbury High School field hockey program (reaching the State Finals), tutored in math/history/chemistry, was the assistant goalkeeper coach at Nichols College, and coached field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse at Dana Hall. She has also managed Nike camps in both Massachusetts and Virginia and continues to coach for Worcester County United field hockey program (coached her team to a silver medal at the Disney Showcase in 2013).

Ramsdell owns a Level 2 Coaching Accreditation from USA Field Hockey, as well as being a USAFH Goalie Coach, and is also on the selection committee for USA Field Hockey Futures (NEXUS). She is CPR certified through the American Red Cross, and acertified Mental Health First Aid First Responder.
