Herring Tabbed Corvias ECAC Division III New England Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has named Worcester State's freshman center, Britt Herring (W. Brookfield, Mass.) the Corvias ECAC Division III New England Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 7. This is Herring’s second team this season earning this award.

Herring averaged 21.5 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 in a 1-1 week for the Lancers.

She registered a career-high 28 points with 10 rebounds in the 76-57 win over Salem State and added 15 points and six rebounds in the setback to Johnson and Wales University.

“Britt continues to expand her game,” commented head coach Karen Tessmer. “In the Salem game, she ran the floor well and scored in transition. She created her own opportunities by getting offensive boards and put-backs.”

Herring currently stands third in the conference with 184 rebounds, and fourth in the MASCAC with 8.8 rebounds per game. She is second in the conference in field goal percentage, shooting 53.1 percent from the field.
