Worcester State Honors 26 Chi Alpha Sigma Inductees

WORCESTER, Mass. - When Worcester State University celebrates the graduation of its Class of 2019 Saturday morning at the DCU Center, 26 graduates will be donning special black and gold cords.

The 26 senior student-athletes representing 13 Lancer teams received their cords last Monday at Worcester State’s Athletic Awards banquet for their induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society. The full list of recipients can be found below.

“This is an extremely talented group of students-athletes,” said Worcester State University Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. “They have gone above and beyond on the field, court, track, and ice, but more importantly in the classroom.”

“In Worcester State’s fifth year of membership in Chi Alpha Sigma, it is exciting to continue to honor our student-athletes’ academic achievements,” said Kelly Downs, coordinator of student-athlete support services. “Our student athletes take pride in their academics and are excited to represent our department at graduation by wearing their athletic honor society cords.”

Twenty-six juniors were also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma earlier this year. They will receive cords at next year’s Athletics Award banquet, and their names can also be found below.
