Worcester State Takes No. 4 Seed in MASCAC Baseball Tournament

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University baseball team earned the No. 4 seed in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) tournament after concluding the regular season at 15-19 and 7-7 in the conference.

 

Starting off the tournament is the first round on Thursday (May 4) which has No. 3 seed Fitchburg State hosting No. 6 seed Framingham State at 3 p.m., then No. 4 seed Worcester State entertains No. 5 seed MCLA at 3:30 p.m.

 

Top seed Westfield State will host the winner of Worcester State/MCLA at 3 p.m. while No. 2 seed Salem State will face off with the winner of Fitchburg State/Framingham State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (May 6).

 

The games will continue on Sunday (May 7) at Westfield State beginning at 9:30 am with the semifinals and then the championship on Monday (May 8) with the winner earning the MASCAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. 

 

Adam Barry (Auburn, Mass.) led the Lancers at the end of the regular season with a .361 batting average while also tallying 10 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 29 RBI and 19 runs scored.
