Baseball Falls Short After 10 Innings

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University baseball team lost 13-12 in the continuation of last Wednesday's game against Fitchburg State.

The Lancers erased a six-run deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning before tying the game in the ninth. Senior Michael Ferrara (Easton, Mass.) tied the score on an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to cap the rally after Worcester State scored five times in the eighth.

Worcester State's Ben Palatino (Hudson, Mass.) and Jake Breton (Wilbraham, Mass.) were each 4-for-5 when the game, while Fitchburg State's Vincent Eramo (Shirley, Mass.) was 5-for-6.

Fitchburg State grabbed an unearned run in the top of the tenth inning when Brandan Lefebvre (Leominster, Mass.) singled to left center to end the game 13-12.

Shaun Gamelin (West Kingstown, R.I.) for the Falcons was credited with the win. Kyle Cravatis (Beverly, Mass.) records a loss.

Worcester State will return to Lyons Diamond tomorrow for a matchup against Albertus Magnus. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
