Baseball's First Pitch Dinner Set for February 23

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University baseball team has announced the return of its First Pitch Banquet, with the date set for February 23.

Held at the Tatnuck Legion Post on 570 Mill Street (across from Logan Field), this event brings together the current team and their families, athletic department staff, alumni, friends, and contributors to the program. This is a pot-luck dinner with each family of the current team bringing a dish. The 2018 team awards winners will be honored plus the Robert J. Hickey Award Jr. recipients for contributions to WSU: Lenny Kasprzak '73, Joe Teixeira, Dan Martin '87, and Tim Keddy.

A special 20 year celebration will be held for Associate Head Coach Dave Wigren, and the 1999 squad which set a school record for victories (25) and recorded the first-ever postseason wins in Worcester State history.

Cruz Rosado '13 is the guest speaker, a 50/50 raffle will be held, team gear sold, special event home games announced, and spring game schedules handed out. To make a donation to the WSU baseball program in lieu of attending please contact Coach Baker at (508) 929-8852 or dbaker1@worcester.edu.
