2018 APPLETON CHALLENGE

WORCESTER, Mass. -  For the second straight year the Lancer Baseball team tested their conditioning and competitiveness in the Appleton Challenge. Players competed in 6 individual exercises (leader listed in parenthesis):

Maximum reps of the 135 lb. bench press (Brad Saltsman)

Squat of 135 lbs. (Seth Allen)

Sit-ups in 3 minutes (Ricardo Santana)

Wide-grip pull-ups (Kenan Kolanda)

Dips (Saltsman)

Wrist roller of 5 lbs. (Luke Brennan)

30-yard sprint (Seth Allen).

Then the four academic captains picked teams to compete in 6 timed relay races: 20 box jumps, tug of war, farmer’s walk around the indoor track with 35 lbs. handled plates, full sprint around the indoor track, agility box sprints, 150 jump ropes, and shuttle run. Pictured as the winning teams which tied for the most points.

Team 1 Coach-Kregg Fritze, Captain-Brian Twomey, Sam Allen, Pat Burke, Kyle Gray, Jackson Leete, Billy Roberge, Santana, Sullivan, and Chadd Richardson. Team 3 Coaches-Rick Smith/Chris Monroe, Captain-Saltsman, Ivan Adams, Dez Aguirre, Brennan, Evan Fritze, Sean Mahan, Ben Palatino, and Ryan Belinskas. Appleton, Wisc. is the site of the 2018 D3 College World Series.
