Hippert Tabbed To D3football.com Team of the Week

Minneapolis, MN --- Junior Casey Hippert (Northbridge, MA) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his efforts in the receiving game in helping pace Worcester State to a 15-14 victory over WPI this past Friday.

Hippert grabbed eight receptions for a career-best 183 yards which included six coming on third down. His key 21-yard third-down conversion at midfield kept a late drive going that eventually set the stage for the game-winning score against the Engineers.

Thus far this season, Hippert is tied for the MASCAC lead in receptions (13) while he has 287 yards and one touchdown. Through the first two games of the campaign, Hippert is second in New England in total receiving yards while his sum is 12 th in the NCAA Division III as he is the only tight end in the top 50.

For his career, Hippert has 61 catches for 1,066 yards and nine touchdowns in three-plus seasons for Worcester State.

After hauling in five balls for 104 yards in their win two weeks ago against Anna Maria, Hippert became the all-time receiving yards leader for a tight end and he is only two catches away from tying Jim Roche's (90-91, 93) all-time receptions mark of 63.

The honor for Hippert marks the second time that he has been recognized on the D3football.com Team of the Week as he copped accolades last season for catching six passes for 123 yards and two TDs in a win against Maine Maritime.

The Lancers will open up the inaugural season of MASCAC play with a road matchup on Friday against Bridgewater State at Swenson Field at 7 PM.
