Hwang Tabbed MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s junior kicker, Noah Hwang (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) special teams football player of the week, as announced by the league Sunday afternoon.

 

This past week, Hwang collected a team-high 12 points, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra point attempts in the Lancers’ 36-7 win over Becker College. His longest field goal was 43 yards with two others of 36 and 30 yards.

 

“I was happy to see him break out of a slump because he really wasn’t doing so well in the beginning of the season,” commented head coach Brien Cullen.

 

Hwang currently leads the conference in PAT kicking percentage (100.0), PAT kicks made (7), field goals made (3), field goals attempted (4), and field goal percentage (75.0). He is ninth in the conference for overall scoring, as he is currently averages eight points per game.

 

The Worcester State football team is back in action on Saturday (Sep. 16) when they host Fitchburg State in the first MASCAC game of the year at 12 noon.
