CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Worcester State University's junior quarterback, Noah Brum (Honolulu, Hawaii) is this week's recipient of the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award presented by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Brum accepted the award today (Nov. 1) at the Dillon Field House on the campus of Harvard University alongside head coach Brien Cullen.
This past weekend, Brum threw for 364 yards with a Lancers single-game record-high 77.8 completion percentage (28-of-36) and tied a school record with five passing touchdowns in the Lancers' 48-0 shutout over Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday. Brum averaged 10.1 yards per attempt and threw touchdown passes for four, four, 11, 24, and 30 yards in the first three quarters.
"He really managed the offense well on Saturday," mentioned Cullen. "He distributed the ball to all the receivers with no turnovers"
Brum currently leads the league in completions (214), attempts (330), yards (2,438), yards per game (304.8), and touchdowns (25). He is second in the league with a 64.8 season completion percentage.
The Gold Helmet Awards are presented each Wednesday afternoon at the weekly New England Football Writers Association Media Luncheons that take place at Harvard University's Dillon Field House. For the third straight year, the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation is the presenting sponsor for both the weekly and end-of-year Gold Helmet Awards presented to student-athletes from FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III institutions throughout New England.
