Football Upended by Framingham State in Final Game of the Season

WORCESTER, Mass.- The Worcester University football team was defeated by the Framingham State Rams 47-6 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play in the final game of the season at John F. Coughlin field.

With the loss, Worcester State end their season 2-8 (1-7 in MASCAC play). The Rams advance to 7-1 (8-2 in MASCAC play) and clinch their spot at the top of the conference.

Before the game, 15 Worcester State seniors were honored at their final home game of the regular season.

The Lancers scored their only points of the game after a team recovered fumble on the Framingham 2 yard line. The Rams committed a penalty advancing Worcester State to the one yard line. Mike Kadlick (Dedham, Mass.) ran the ball in to the end zone to put the Lancers up 6-0.

Early in the second quarter, Kadlick completed a pass to Jordan Choquette (Warren, Mass.) who was met by Darian Belizaire (Framingham, Mass.) to force a fumble. Belizaire recovered the ball and ran 25 yards into the end zone to put the Rams on the board.

Two minutes later for the Rams, Adam Wojenski (Stratford, Conn.) sailed a seventeen yard pass to Napoleon Miller (Dorchester, Mass.) for another touchdown. This time Henrique DeBoni's (Rio Claro, Brazil) kick was good and the Rams went up 13-6.

After a failed Worcester State drive, Cam Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.) punted the ball 22 yards to give the Rams one more scoring drive in the first half. Rufus Rushins (Lynn, Mass.) rushed the ball one yard to put Framingham State up 20-6 at the halftime mark.

The Rams continued to pile it on in the second half. Wojenski completed passes to both Miller and Mike Calicchio (Chelmsford, Mass.) for two separate touchdowns in the second half. Quoron Wright (Worcester, Mass.) had a 21 yard rush to put his own points on the board for the Rams. Sebastien Robert (Cambridge, Mass.) rushed the ball into the Worcester State end zone to seal the fate of their win.

Wojenski led the Rams with 131 yards and three touchdowns. Robert finished with a game high 104 yards on 14 attempts and a touchdown. Miller in addition to his two touchdowns grabbed 60 yards on five receptions. Rashaun Rivers (Westfield, Mass.) led the Rams' defense with five solo tackles and seven overall.

The Lancers were led by Kadlick's 149 passing yards and a touchdown on the ground. Aaron Williams (Springfield, Mass.) contributed 49 yards on the ground for the Worcester State offense. Jacob Maher (Marshfield, Mass.) had nine receptions for 69 yards in the Lancers loss. Nicholas Ashley (Worcester, Mass.) led the Lancers defense with 13 tackles.
