MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Another major award rolled in on Tuesday morning for Worcester State University football tight end Jacob Maher (Marshfield, Mass.), who was named to the D3football.com All-East Region First Team.

Maher's honor is Worcester State's 11th D3football.com All-East Region selection all-time. He joins Casey Hippert and Bryan Narcisse as the only Lancers to be named All-Region by D3football.com twice, and is the first Lancer to be named First Team All-Region by D3football.com twice.

The announcement comes two weeks after Maher was named to the All-New England Team by the New England Football Writers. Maher was also selected First Team All-Conference by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference last month.

Maher led the Lancers in every major receiving category this season, with 47 catches, 615 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in 10 games played. The junior criminal justice major had a pair of two-touchdown outings, first in Worcester State's loss to Salve Regina to open the season, and again two weeks later in the Lancers' victory over Fitchburg State.
