2019 Worcester State Football Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. - Head coach Brien Cullen officially announced the 2019 schedule for his Worcester State University football team on Friday morning.

Worcester State is slated to play 10 games this fall, split evenly with five on the road and five at John F. Coughlin Field. The schedule features eight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference contests, as well as non-conference battles against local rivals WPI and Becker.

The Lancers enter the fall looking to rebound from a 2-8 season in 2018, opening the year on Friday, September 6 on the road against WPI. The Engineers, who were 6-4 in 2018, are Worcester State's lone new opponent from last season, renewing a cross-town rivalry last contested in 2016.

Worcester State opens its home schedule a week later on Friday, September 13 against Becker College. The matchup is the first of three Friday night contests at John F. Coughlin Field in 2019, as the Lancers will also play under the lights on October 11 against Bridgewater State and on November 1 against Fitchburg State.

The Lancers will play their 32nd Homecoming game on Saturday, September 28, when the Western Connecticut State Colonials come to Worcester. Worcester State is 18-13 all time when hosting Homecoming, and 1-1 when hosting the Colonials on Homecoming. Western Connecticut won 55-35 in 2013, before the Lancers won 44-41 in 2015.

Worcester State's final game of the season will be played on Saturday, November 16 as the Lancers take on reigning MASCAC champion Framingham State on Senior Day. Framingham State secured the conference title at Coughlin Field in 2018 with a win in Worcester State's season finale.
