North Dartmouth, MA --- The Little East Conference (LEC) has
announced junior Veronica Farrell along
with senior classmates Kim Cosenza and
Megan Rosborough have each been selected to the
LEC Fall All-Academic team. The accolade marks the second straight
year for all three players have been named to the team.
To earn a spot on the all-academic team a student-athlete must be
at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a
cumulative grade point average of 3.2 and be a full-time member of
a varsity team.
Cosenza, a native of Fitchburg, MA and Health Science major was
tabbed as a member of the LEC First-Team as a defender while also
representing the Lancers on the NFHCA Division III All-Star
team.
Rosborough, who hails from Uxbridge, MA while majoring in Business,
played in all 21 of WSC’s contests this season. Rosborough
lead the team in assists with six while also ending the season tied
for second in team goals with five. Rosborough also recorded a team
second-best 16 points with four game winning goals.
Farrell, a nursing major from Baldwinville, MA, also played a key
role on defense in all 21 of the Lancers games this year. Farrell
also chipped in with an assist with two defensive saves.
Under the guidance of Renee LaValley and Abby Sallila, Worcester
State finished the season at 11-10 and 6-5 in the LEC. After bowing
out to Plymouth State in the conference quarterfinals, the Lancers
ended the season with a 3-0 loss to St. Joseph’s of Maine in
the ECAC Tournament. The appearance was their fifth in seven years.
