Five Field Hockey Teamates Tabbed to Little East All-Academic Team

North Dartmouth, MA --- Senior's Veronica Farrell (Baldwinville, MA) and Leslie Hill (Raynham, MA), junior's Amanda Maillet (Saugus, MA) and Meghan Feehan (Lunenburg, MA) along with sophomore Samantha Janda (Sterling, MA) have been selected to the 2009 Little East Fall All-Academic Team for their outstanding work in the classroom.

To be nominated for selection, the student-athlete must be a sophomore athletically and academically, carry a cumulative 3.3 GPA and be a full-time member of the team. The Little East sponsors the sports of men's/women's cross country, field hockey, men's/women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball. Worcester State is an affiliate member of the Little East in the sport of Field Hockey.

Farrell, Feehan and Maillet are all in WSC's popular nursing program, Hill will graduate with a degree in Communication Disorders and Janda is undeclared. For Farrell this is her second straight time she has been distinguished on the team.

The field hockey team finished the year at 4-15 and 1-10 in the highly competitive Little East Conference under the direction of fourth year head coach Abby Sallila.
