Romano Recognized As Corvais ECAC New England Defensive Player of the Week

Cape Cod, MA --- Senior net minder Allison Romano (E. Bridgewater, MA) has honored as this week's Corvais ECAC Division III New England Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in a 2-0 triumph over Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, November 2.

Romano, who was also named Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, stopped all three shots she saw between the pipes to earn the clutch shutout victory over the Warriors which helped the Lancers break a three-way tie-breaker and secure a spot in this week's LEC Tournament.

Their appearance in the LEC Tournament marked their first appearance in the eight-team competition since 2011.

As of the final week of the regular season, Romano was 11-5 overall with a 2.11 goals against average and 71 saves. She ranked second in the 12-team conference with six shutouts while Romano was also fourth in victories, seventh in goals against average and 10th in cumulative saves.

The Lancers (11-8) were blanked 4-0 in the opening round of the Little East Tournament by top-seeded Keene State on Tuesday, however, they await news of a possible ECAC Division III New England Tournament bid when the seedings are announced on Monday, November 11.
