Field Hockey Draws No. 11 Messiah in First Round of NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Worcester State University field hockey team has drawn Messiah College in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The announcement came from the NCAA late Sunday evening.

The game will be played on the campus of Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. at a time to be announced.

Messiah qualified for the NCAA Tournament, earning the automatic bid for the MAC Commonwealth Conference. The Falcons defeated Lebanon Valley College 4-1 on Saturday in the conference title game, capturing their 13th consecutive conference title and 26th overall. This will be the 19th straight season the Falcons compete in the NCAA Tournament, and the program won the National Championship in 2016.

Worcester State won its first ever Little East Conference championship on Saturday, defeating six-time reigning champion Keene State 6-0 at Coughlin Field. The Lancers have won a program record 18 games this season.
