Rachel Hopkins Named NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

GILBERT, Ariz. - Worcester State University senior field hockey player Rachel Hopkins (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named the Division III Offensive Player of the Week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The announcement came from the NFHCA on Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkins had a pair of big games for the Lancers last week, recording five goals and an assist for 11 points in a pair of Little East Conference wins. Hopkins opened the week with a two-goal performance against Southern Maine on Wednesday before scoring a hat trick with an assist against Framingham State on Saturday. He was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the performance.

Hopkins currently leads the LEC with 19 goals and 46 points on the season. She was previously named an NFHCA Weekly Honorable Mention on September 9.

Hopkins and the Lancers will return to the field on Thursday afternoon for a 4 p.m. showdown against crosstown rival WPI.
