Jobst Honored With NABC, D3hoops.com All-Northeast Laurels

Worcester, MA --- Senior standout Dane Jobst (Athol, MA) has been selected to the D3hoops.com and National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) All-Northeast Region teams.

Jobst, the only MASCAC representative named by both squads, was chosen to the D3hoops.com Third-team in a vote by a selected panel of sports information directors from around New England and D3sports.com staff while he also earned a nod to the NABC Northeast Second-team in a ballot by the committee of the regions men's basketball coaches.

With remarkable averages of 16.6 points per game and an eye-popping 13.4 rebounds in 26 games, Jobst topped the conference in boards as he was third in scoring. He also was also tied for 10th in the league in free throw percentage (.662), 11th in field goal percentage (.458) and 15th in average assists per game (2.0).

Among NCAA Division III leaders, Jobst remains ranked third in average rebounding and total caroms (348). Despite the fact that his season ended a little more than two weeks ago, Jobst is still one of four men's basketball student-athletes with 19 or more double-doubles to his credit on the campaign nationally and among the top 30 scorers in New England.

His rebounding sum and average are both fourth on WSU's single-season lists as his total is just one away from Mal Person's total (349) in 1971-72.

Jobst, the MASCAC Player of the Year, boosted two-year career averages of 16.5 points per game, 12.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, a .454 percentage from the field, he has sank .343 percent of his three point attempts (46-for-134) and a .711 clip from the charity stripe in 52 career games.

Since matriculating from St. Joseph's (VT) in his junior season, Jobst has been instrumental in helping the Lancers earn spots in the conference tournament field in both seasons including a league tournament semifinals berth this year.

Jobst is the third student-athlete in the last six seasons to be recognized with D3hoops.com All-Northeast laurels. The other two were former standouts Dave Douillette (2011) and Maurice Horton (2009).

Under the direction of 20th year head coach Dave Lindberg, the Blue and Gold finished the year at 12-14 overall and tied for second place in the final MASCAC regular season standings with an 8-4 mark.
