Four Named To MASCAC Winter All-Academic Team

Westfield, MA --- Led by senior teamates Dane Jobst (Athol, MA) and Jeremy Ross (Holden, MA), the Worcester State men's basketball team had four who were honored on the MASCAC Winter All-Academic Team as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.

Other selections included freshman Paul Brooks (Arlington, MA) and Noris Cuevas-Nova (Amherst, MA) while Jobst was lauded by the conference for the second consecutive season.

There was a four-way tie for the second highest number of student-athletes in the conference as the Blue and Gold were one off of Framingham State's sum of five.

To earn a spot on the MASCAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based GPA during their season of competition.

Under the direction of 20th year head coach Dave Lindberg, the Lancers made an appearance in their 16th MASCAC Tournament semifinals while also tying for second place in the final regular season standings.

Among institutions in the MASCAC, Worcester State had 64 overall selections on the league winter academic honor roll for the third highest sum in the league. The total number of student-athletes also marked the highest since the conference began listing its all-academic honor roll on a season-by-season basis during the 2009-10 academic year.
