WORCESTER, Mass. –  Freshman guard, Cal Howes (Maynard, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's basketball rookie of the week, as announced by the conference Monday (Jan. 2) afternoon.

The first year averaged 16 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. He scored 12 points with two steals and two assists in the 82-77 win over Sage Colleges, and then tallied 20 points with four rebounds and three assists in the 79-63 setback to Roger Williams University.

The men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 4) when they travel to MCLA for the conference opener.
