Men's Hoops Bested by Salve Regina

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Worcester State University men's basketball team fell to Salve Regina University by a final score of 86-69 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Rogers Recreation Center.

With the defeat, the Lancers drop to 3-8 overall on the season.

Junior Chris Cardoso (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) was Worcester State's bright spot on the box score, registering 21 points in the losing effort, while also pulling down a team-high seven boards. Seniors Cal Howes (Maynard, Mass.) and Tyler Dion (Barre, Mass.) each got into double figures in scoring on the afternoon as well, with 13 and 11 points respectively.

Mikey Spencer dominated for the Seahawks to lead the hosts to the win. The sophomore netted 34 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Salve Regina was all over Worcester State on the boards on the day, outrebounding the Lancers 47-19.

Worcester State will return to action to host Becker College on Monday night at John P. Brissette Court. The Lancers and Hawks will tip off at 7 p.m.
