Collamer Honored On GNAC Academic All-Conference Team

 

Boston, MA --- Junior Matt Collamer (Dracut, MA), of the men's golf team, has been named to the Great Northeast Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference Team as announced by conference publicist Dan Campagna.

The accolade for Collamer marks his second straight nod to the GNAC All-Academic honor roll. To be named to the All-Academic team, one must have maintained a 3.25 grade point average, played at his/her institution for one full season at a GNAC sponsored school and be at least a sophomore academically.

More than 765 student-athletes were recognized by the GNAC from 12 full-time members and 13 affiliate institutions.

This past fall semester, Collamer helped the golf team post the highest grade point average of any male squad at Worcester State (3.11) while five teamates tied for the third highest total on the MASCAC All-Academic Team.

Collamer won't figure into the spring GPA for the squad as he spent the semester participating in the study abroad program in Australia.

In the fall, Collamer was the second highest Lancer finisher at the two-day Williams Invitational and led the squad with an 87 in the opening round. He was the third scorer to help the Blue and Gold place fourth as a team at the Westfield Invitational.

The Lancers enter their third season of membership in the GNAC and will try to vye for a spot in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Tournament on October 18-19 when they play at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton.
