Men's Golf Places Eighth Overall At Rhode Island College

 

Warwick, RI --- Junior Bryan Dunham (Tolland, CT) highlighted the men's golf team with a second-round score of 78 (+6) to help lead Worcester State to eighth overall out of 17 teams in the final round of the Rhode Island College Invitational held at the par 72 Valley Country Club.

As a team, the Blue and Gold finished with a score of 685, which was 53 shots more than the hosting Anchormen, who won the competition. WSU edged Castleton State (687), who placed ninth and shot three strokes better than Babson and Nichols who tied for 10th (688).

Four of five Lancers shaved off strokes from their score from Friday as Dunham had the best improvement taking 10 strokes off of his lead to wrap-up the competition tied for 22nd (166, +22).

Junior David Rixham (Northbridge, MA), freshman Patrick Sharron (Boylston, MA) and classmate Steven Ferraro (Leicester, MA) all tied for 46th with a 173 (+29). Ferraro cut five strokes off his score (84, +12), Rixham handed in a card that was three better (85, +13) and Sharron was -1 on the afternoon (86, +14).

Junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) settled for 73rd with a two-day score of 189 (+45).

Overall the top four were a combined -19 on the final day of the competition.

Worcester State will hit the links again next weekend at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational.
