Men's Golf Defeats Anna Maria In Dual Match At Blackstone

 

Sutton, MA --- Highlighted by sophomore medalist Brendan Dugan (Sutton, MA), four Worcester State men's golfers placed in the top four to help lead the Lancers to a 316-338 win over Anna Maria on Monday afternoon at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Course.

The event was shortened to 13 holes due to darkness and scores were adjusted for par for the final scores.

Dugan paced the field with a 76 (+4) to earn his first career medalist honor followed by junior David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) who connected for a 79 (+7), freshman Anthony Bement (Attleboro, MA) who carded an 80 (+8) and first-year Patrick Sharron's (Boylston, MA) fourth place finish of 81 (+9).

Junior Lucas Davis (Spencer, MA) led the AMCATS with an 82 (+10) for fifth overall. Other finishers for the hosts included junior Chris Gosselin (Auburn, MA) and classmate Tom Randell (Auburn, MA) who equalled sixth (85, +14) while third-year Mitchell Rogers (Spencer, MA) who tied for eighth (+15, 86).

Sophomore Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) rounded out the scorers for the Blue and Gold with a tie for eighth place and an 86 (+15).

The Lancers will compete on Thursday at the Westfield State Invitational at Tekoa Golf Club. Anna Maria hits the links again along with Worcester State in the always competative Elms Fall Blazer Invitational at Westover Golf Course in Granby.
