Men's Golf Takes Home Fourth Place At Elms Blazer Invitational

 

Granby, MA --- Freshman Patrick Sharron (Boylston, MA) tied for 11th with a 79 (+7) - just four strokes off the lead - as he helped lead the Worcester State men's golf team to fourth overall at the Elms Fall Blazer Invitational held at the par 72 Westover Golf Course this afternoon.

As a team, the Lancers were just 17 shots off of the hosting Blazers total of 310. First-year Zachary Temple (Hartland, VT) of Castleton State won the tournament with a 75 to pace the Spartans to second place (314) as Rhode Island College was just nine strokes off the crown with 319.

The finish bettered last seasons 13th place finish out of 15th teams invited.

Sophomore Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) and freshman Anthony Bement (Attleboro, MA) both equalled 24th with an 82 (+10) while first-year Brett Tetreault (Webster, MA) tied for 29th (84; +12).

Second-year Brendan Dugan (Sutton, MA) connected for an 89 (+17) to round out five-some for the Lancers.

Worcester State competes again in a dual competition against Becker on Tuesday at Leciester Country Club.
