Men's Golf Ties For 20th Place At Middlebury Invitational

 

Middlebury, VT --- Highlighted by the second day score of junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) who handed in a card of 79 (+8), the Worcester State men's golf team tied for 20th at the Middlebury Invitational this past weekend held at the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

The Lancers equalled the two-day score of Division II St. Michaels with a cumulative sum of 667 which was 11 strokes better than last season and just 23 off the top 10 institutions. RPI won the competition which featured 25 team entries.

WSU shaved 11 strokes off their score from yesterday after firing a 339 for 23rd place in the opening round.

Davis led the Blue and Gold with a final score of 163 (+21) which was tied for 59th overall followed by senior David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) who followed up his strong week with a 165 (+23) to tie for 71st.

Sophomore Steven Ferraro (Boylston, MA) tied for 91st with a 169 (+27), freshman Quinn Indio (Leicester, MA) had a score that was knotted for 101st (173; +31) and classmate Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, MA) rounded out the five-some in 119th (179; +37).

Worcester State will compete again next week at the MCLA Invitational on Thursday at Berkshire Hills Country Club in South Hadley.
