Lancers Wrap up 2015-16 Campaign at Wildcats Spring Invitational

CRANSTON, RI – The Worcester State University men's golf team wrapped up their 2015-16 campaign at the Wildcats Spring Invitational, hosted by Rhode Island College, on Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 16-17) at the Cranston Country Club.

 

Leading the way for Worcester State was Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) who tied for 4th out of the 100 golfers at the tournament. Jezierski carded an 80 (+8) on the first round, and improved to 74 (+2) on the second day of play.

 

As a team, they marked a 10th place finish out of the 19 teams at the invite. In two rounds of play, the Lancers carded a 649 (332-317), improving by 15 strokes as a team in the second round of play. They came in two strokes behind of Salem State, Western New England, and Husson University who all tied for 7th place with a total of 647.

 

Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) came in second for Worcester (tied 29th overall), as he carded a 162 (80-82) in the two rounds of play. Senior Jackson Davis (Spencer, Mass.) marked a 165 (84-81), tying for 40th place.

 

Rounding up the golfers for Worcester was Patrick Sharron (Boylston, Mass.) and Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, Mass.), who came in tied at 49th and 79th places, respectively.
