WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State's Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's golfer of the week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
This past week, the senior golfer helped the Lancers to a 4th place finish at the Westfield State University Invitational men's golf tournament hosted at the Tekoa Country Club.
"Steve played solid all day and had a really good finish," commented assistant coach Zach Camarra. "He's been working really hard and putting in the practice and it's paying off."
Ferraro tied for second place individually as he carded a 38 on the front nine, and then a 35 on the back nine to score a 73 (+2) on the par-71 course.
"He's one of our co-captains this season and his performance is going to be a big boost for our entire team," said Camarra. "The team is using this as a spring board for the rest of the season."
Next up, the Lancers host the Worcester City Championships at Blackstone National in Sutton, Mass. on Saturday (Oct. 8).
