Peladeau Tabbed GNAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's sophomore golfer, Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias golfer of the week, as announced by the conference Monday (Oct. 10) afternoon.

Peladeau earned the individual title at the annual Worcester City Championships this past weekend to help his team to a second place finish at the Blackstone National Golf Course.

He and three other golfers from Holy Cross all tied for first place carding a 75, resulting in a four-man playoff. The first hole was halved with bogies while the second hole saw three pars and one bogie. Peladeau ended up winning the playoff on the 4th hole and was crowned the champion.

"Eddie was under a tremendous amount of pressure during each shot of the playoff and in the end prevailed," commented head coach Mark Gurski. "The players from Holy Cross played incredibly well."

"This is our second consecutive GNAC golfer of the week accolade," mentioned Gurski. "Our golfers are peaking at the right time, especially going into GNAC's and NEIGA's in the upcoming weeks. I'm hoping this carries over for the next two weeks and look forward to finishing the fall very strongly."

This upcoming weekend, the Lancers travel to the Gorham Country Club for the GNAC Championships.
