Men’s Golf Wraps up Spring Season at Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. – The Worcester State University men's golf team wrapped up their spring season at the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational this weekend (Apr. 22-23) at the Cranston Country Club.

 

Western New England captured the team title as they totaled a 612 (309-303) in the two rounds of play. Babson came in second place at 619 (310-309), while Tufts came in the third spot with a 622 (315-307) Tufts' Owen Elliott was the individual champion as he tallied a 150 (76-74) in the two rounds of play.

 

As a team, Worcester State finished 16th out of 17 teams competing in the event, carding a 712 (357-355) in the two rounds of play. Worcester State's senior captain, Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) paced the Lancers with a 159, carding an 82 in the first round, and coming back to tally 77 strokes in the second round for 27th place overall.

 

Behind him was Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, Mass.) with a 165. Peladeau also improved on day two as he carded an 86 on Saturday, and marked a 79 in the second round. Worcester State's Luke Robare (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) followed with a 188 (93-95), and Anthony Bement (Attleboro, Mass.) followed at 200 (96-104).
